Comic Book Movies for Your Marvel Reading

comic book superhero movies

Comic books have been around for decades, and through the years, comic book superhero movies have grown to include blockbuster box office hits such as “X-Men” and “The Dark Knight.” While many of these films have a base of well-known characters, they rarely rely on the unique creative properties of the comic books that made them unique. Often they are simply adapted from the already published material. But there are a few exceptions, and one of those exceptions is “Logan,” which takes place in the X-Men universe.

But let’s take a look at “Logan.” Based on the successful X-Men series, “Logan” follows the life of Logan, a mutant who has lived his entire life amongst the X-Men. He is a much sought-after mutant, someone who is neither human nor mutant. With the assistance of some new and amazing technology, he is taken on a daring mission from Professor X to save humanity and is thrust into a world of super-humans, where his past is revealed, and he must decide what kind of master he wants to be. The movie “Wolverine” is based on the highly popular X-Men comics.

One of the most anticipated comic book superhero movies of the next year is “Wolverine 2.” The first film grossed over $750 million worldwide and was a huge hit for both children and adults. The second movie in the long-running “Wolverine” franchise is sure to be even bigger. It’s possible that ” Wolverine 2″ could easily top the box office during its opening weekend and then see the second week of strong sales only to end up on the year’s top ten list.

However, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. There are a few other superhero movies on the slate this summer, including “The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes,” “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Princess and the Frog,” and the animated “The Croods.” Those films will definitely compete for second place with “Wolverine 2,” but the odds are pretty good that the second black panther movie of the summer will have a much better opening weekend than either of the previous movies. In fact, it is even possible that ” Wolverine 2″ could make more than “X-Men: First Class.”

A Much Ado

If “Wolverine” does indeed take the top prize at the box office, that would be a huge day for the superhero genre. This is the first time that an X-Men movie has topped the box office for three consecutive weekends. Of course, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2″ helped to launch the comic book superhero into the mainstream, but the receipts are still pretty slow. Will ” Wolverine 2 ” help boost sales of the other superhero movies? And do the Avengers score bigger in ticket sales? These are all interesting questions to answer, and you can expect an exciting summer of comic book superhero movies.

For those of you who have been wondering what to read this summer, there are actually some excellent titles available right now. One of them is “The Dark Knight,” and it’s shaping up to be a fantastic summer movie. It just makes sense when you stop and think about it. Batman, as he has been portrayed time again, will finally get his big-screen treatment in the dark knight movies. Bringing old-time Gotham City into the modern age, “The Dark Knight” gives us a look at what could have been in our heads if we hadn’t invented superpowers, and it also gives us a chance to revisit one of the most beloved comic books of all time.

Could the “dark knight” be the start of a new trilogy of Batman films? It certainly looks that way, and after seeing “The Dark Knight,” the only person who could spoil that story for us is Heath Ledger. If Ledger died before seeing the film, then I can guarantee that there will be a lot of theories and fan theories floating around the internet for a while. But in truth, Ledger just might be on the verge of leaving us forever.

Bottom Line

We recently saw “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” which was a fantastic film both in terms of visual entertainment and story development. But it’s probably safe to say that any potential future superhero movies right now won’t feature any characters who are in any sort of danger from future movies. That’s because there are still plenty of villains left to be dealt with, and the Infinity War movies aren’t even happening yet. With so many iconic characters to reintroduce in future projects, it’s probably safe to say that there just isn’t enough time to do that right now. So, for now, let’s just enjoy the current crop of movies and look forward to the next wave of exciting comic book movies to be released in the next few years. Until we do, we can always rely on our classic comics to tell us what happens next.
