Manga Characters

The manga industry is currently one of the top three largest in the world, and it’s only continuing to grow. That’s because more people than ever are reading manga; some experts estimate that by 2020, 15% of all books sold will be comics.

The greatest part about this surge in popularity is that there are so many new titles on offer: whether you want a mature, gritty thriller like “Tokyo Ghoul,” or something lighter and funnier like “Nisekoi” (a Japanese high school romance), there’s something for everyone! This article focuses on Japan’s most famous manga characters.

Naruto Uzumaki from “Naruto”

First up on our list is Naruto Uzumaki from the popular manga and anime series “Naruto.” Naruto is a young ninja, and the series tells the story of both his childhood as a student at the Ninja Academy as well as his adulthood as a powerful ninja. In terms of sheer popularity, Naruto’s manga has been one of Japan’s bestselling titles since it debuted in 1999. The series was also dubbed into English by Viz Media from 2002 to 2009 for that outside of Japan who wanted to read and watch the anime and manga series – which means that Naruto is pretty famous worldwide!

Naruto’s character design is also very interesting: he wears an orange jumpsuit with blue sandals and has blonde hair and blue eyes – not exactly common features in Japanese people or anime characters. He’s definitely got some great appeal as a character, and that’s why he’s one of the most famous manga characters in Japan.

Luffy from “One Piece”

Our next character is Luffy from the popular manga and anime series “One Piece.” Like Naruto Uzumaki, Luffy is also a young ninja – but his story is very different. Luffy sets out to become the Pirate King and travels the world in search of adventure and treasure. One Piece has been published in Weekly Shōnen Jump since 1997, making it one of the longest-running manga series ever.

Luffy’s character design is very memorable: he has a large, round face with prominent eyes, a wide smile, and curly hair. He’s often drawn wearing his trademark red vest and white shorts. Luffy is also one of the most popular manga characters in Japan, and his series is extremely successful worldwide.

Tohru Honda from “Fruits Basket”

Tohru Honda is a character from the manga series “Fruits Basket.” The series tells the story of Tohru, a high school student who discovers that she can transform into any animal that she touches – a power that is granted to her by the spirit of the zodiac.

Tohru is an interesting character because she’s very kind-hearted and understanding, but she’s also brave and determined. She goes through a lot of emotional turmoil throughout the series, but she always manages to pull through in the end. Tohru’s design is also very memorable: she has light brown hair and eyes, and her usual outfit consists of a white button-up shirt with baggy sleeves, green overalls, yellow socks, and red shoes.

Most importantly, though, Tohru is trusted by everyone who meets her without any suspicion whatsoever – which speaks volumes about what kind of character she really is! That’s why Tohru Honda is one of Japan’s most famous manga characters.

Goku from “Dragon Ball”

Goku is another extremely popular protagonist in Japanese manga and anime. He’s the main character of the “Dragon Ball” series, which tells the story of Goku’s adventures as he travels across the world and fights against various villains.

Goku is a Saiyan, which means that he has superhuman strength and abilities. He’s also able to transform into different forms which gives him additional powers. Goku is known for his kind heart and his never-give-up attitude, as well as his powerful fighting skills.

Goku is one of the most famous manga characters in Japan, and his series is extremely popular both there and worldwide. He’s definitely a character that you don’t want to mess with!
